We use the box system of measuring frames for seg heights, A, B,
DBL, AND Eds'. To help insure your order is correct, please use
the same method of measuring. C-Sizes and patterns on edged lenses-only
work is helpful in making the job correct.
0-60 Days, One-time at 50% the original cost.
Lens options, material changes, tints and coatings not originally
ordered will be invoiced at our normal charge. The original lenses
and a copy of the original invoice must accompany your request for
remake.
A copy of the original invoice must be returned with the lenses
and /or frame within 60 days of the original invoice date. Be specific
about the reason for the remake, otherwise, the Rx will be processed
at full charge.
If a patient cannot adjust to their progressive lenses within 90
days, we will, upon receipt of the original lenses and a cop of
the original invoice, replace them with a conventional multifocal
of the same Rx at no charge. We will invoice any difference in the
charges associated with different brands of progressive lenses material
change, tint and coatings not originally ordered. Manufacturers'
policies supersede any of Donaldson Optical's policies.
When the Rx is taken over the phone, in order to avoid any errors,
the Rx will be read back to you. Since either party can make a mistake,
these errors will be invoiced at half price when remakes are necessary.
If lenses are not yet in process, Rx changes and cancellations can
be made at on charge. But, if lenses are in process, or are on special
order from the factory, a 50% credit will be given.
We must have all original invoices and lenses to issue any credit.
Credit will not allowed after 120 days from the original invoice
date. Only one discount or coupon may be used on any single invoice.
Under normal use, TRANSITIONS, HIGH INDEX, SCRATCH RESISTANT, ANTI-REFLECTIVE
COATED LENSES ARE WARRANTED AGAINST SCRATCHING FOR ONE YEAR FORM
ORIGINAL INVOICE DATE.
A. The scratch resistant warranty does not apply to sports, safety
or mirror coated lenses.
B. Manufacturers warranties supersede Donaldson Optical warranties
on anti-reflective coatings and factory scratch resistant coatings.
We are not responsible for lenses not purchased from Donaldson Optical,
or lenses that have been purchased and brought back at a later date
to be edged. Please take it upon yourself to inspect lenses for
scratches, chips and defects before shipping.
Donaldson Optical will not accept the responsibility of frames that
have been previously worn. These frames may not withstand the stress
of insertion of new lenses. It is your responsibility to evaluate
all old frames being sent for lenses to be edged. We urge you to
advise your patients of this before sending.
We cannot accept responsibility for patients' lenses. With so many
different lens materials and coatings today, there is a great deal
of risk involved with bleaching, coating, tinting, or re-edging
old lenses. We will do the best job we can, but this is done at
your own risk.
When you replace one lens only, inspect the other lens for scratches
and chips as we are not responsible for the condition of the enclosed
lenses.
On all multifocal orders, (when a lens is not enclosed), indicate
the optical center height of the lens that is not enclosed.
Balance lenses are invoiced at 50% for hand-making a pattern form
a supplied tracing.
Because similar shapes exist in frame styles, it is difficult to
make a pattern from a drawing. If this is the only alternative,
there will be an additional charge of $5.00 for hand-making a pattern
from a supplied tracing. If it is necessary for us to make a pattern
from a supplied drawing, remakes for lens size, shape, axis or seg
height will be at full price.
We must know the lens material when adding or stripping AR Coating
on enclosed lenses. Stripping of lenses is done at your own risk.
We are not responsible for items lost en route to us.
Orders will not be processed until the frame arrives at our lab.
All information given on the phone must be included. All frames
must have the tray number given when the order was placed.
We are not responsible for chipping or sizing problems with frames
that are metal around the entire frame requiring a grooved lens
edge. These orders will be processed at your own risk. Polycarbonate
lenses are recommended.
Because of the possibility of reduced impact resistance and increased
chance of breakage and chipping, we don not process glass lenses
in drill mount frames.
